A total of 16 cars from the Porsche Endurance Trophy Nürburgring took part in the ADAC 24h Nürburgring Qualifiers. Seven Porsche 911 GT3 Cup and nine Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 CS competed in the classes Cup 2 and Cup 3 under the same technical regulations, but outside the classification of the Porsche one-make series. Following a fatal accident of a competitor from another class during the early stages of the race, race one on Saturday evening was red-flagged and not restarted. After a moment of silence, race two took place on Sunday according to the usual schedule. In the Cup 2 class, Noah Nagelsdiek and Raphael Rennhofer from BLACK FALCON (#920) took the win, while Alexander Fielenbach and Oskar Sandberg from Smyrlis Racing (#953) claimed victory in the Cup 3 class. The duo now leads the overall championship of the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie (NLS). Robey Ace, Karsten Krämer, Leo Messenger and Peter Sander from KKrämer Racing (#909) were victorious in the AM classification of the Cup 2 class and Heiko Eichenberg, Fabio Grosse, as well as Patrik Grütter from SRS Team Sorg Rennsport (#959) won the Cup 3 AM classification.
Manthey and the Porsche Endurance Trophy Nürburgring extend their deepest condolences to the family, friends and the team of Juha Miettinen, who passed away on Saturday evening. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the emergency personnel and track marshals.
Next up for the teams and drivers of the Porsche Endurance Trophy Nürburgring is the ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring, taking place from May 14 to 17. The traditional endurance race in the Eifel region is also not counted toward the PETN standings and will instead be awarded special prizes.
