• A win and a podium finish for Thomas Preining at Oschersleben
• Ricardo Feller secures two top-ten finishes 
• Thomas Preining takes pole position in both qualifying sessions

Oschersleben. Manthey celebrated a successful fifth DTM weekend of the season. Thomas Preining managed to set the fastest lap in both qualifying sessions and therefore started both sprint races from pole position. This marked the first time since the Sunday qualifying session at the Lausitzring in 2024 that a Porsche 911 GT3 R had started a DTM race from pole position. Whilst the 2023 champion held the lead from start to finish on Saturday, he crossed the finish line in third place in Sunday’s race. Meanwhile, his team-mate Ricardo Feller (Switzerland), on his fifth DTM race weekend with Manthey, secured a tenth and an eighth place at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben, thereby continuing his unbroken run of points since the start of the season. With 179 championship points, Manthey has moved up from sixth to second place in the DTM team standings following the races at Oschersleben. Thomas Preining is also closing the gap on the leaders and, with 117 points, occupies fourth place in the drivers’ championship. After ten of the 16 sprint races, Ricardo Feller is in 14th place with 64 points.

“It was a successful weekend for us. Thomas put in some extremely strong performances in both qualifying sessions and secured pole position for us for the first time since the start of the 2024 season. On Saturday, thanks to a good strategy and quick pit stops, we managed to hold onto the lead throughout the race. The race win was a great reward for Thomas and the whole team. After the rather difficult weekends that preceded it, this means a great deal to us. On Sunday, we were also on course for victory right up until the second pit stop window. Unfortunately, a technical problem then arose during the tyre change. A wheel nut retainer jammed, and it took quite a lot of force to release it again. As a result, we lost time in the pit lane. When something like this happens, it’s not the crew’s fault, but simply bad luck. The fact that it happened in such a promising situation of all times is frustrating, but there’s nothing we can do about it. Nevertheless, we’re very pleased with third place. The many championship points are very important for us in order to keep up with the leaders in the championship standings. Ricardo managed to finish in the top ten in both races, continuing his run of scoring points with us in every DTM race. This is his first sprint season with Manthey and Porsche, and we’re very pleased with his learning curve and development. Overall, we’re feeling very confident ahead of our home races in the Eifel. We’re expecting lots of guests, colleagues and, of course, fans at the Nürburgring, and we’re looking forward to hopefully putting on a good show for them”, explains Patrick Arkenau, Director Racing at Manthey Racing GmbH. 
 
The Meuspath-based team’s home DTM races will take place at the Nürburgring from 14 to 16 August 2026. Before that, the team will travel to the USA to take part in the fourth endurance race of the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup (31 July–2 August 2026).

My car was perfect right from the start, and Saturday was truly a perfect day. Things were going good on Sunday too, right up until just before the end. Unfortunately, an unfortunate technical problem then cropped up during the pit stop. It’s frustrating, but that’s just part and parcel of racing. Our crew always do a perfect job, and when you have a bit of bad luck, it’s a shame, of course, but that’s just part of the game.”
