  • A double podium and victory on Saturday prematurely crown Manthey as the 2025 DTM Team Champion
  • Ayhancan Güven triumphs in Sunday's race, clinching his fifth victory of the season and securing the 2025 DTM drivers' championship title

Hockenheim. Manthey wins the team and drivers' championship as well as the "Rookie of the Year" title in the 2025 DTM season with drivers Ayhancan Güven (Turkey), Thomas Preining (Austria) and Morris Schuring (Netherlands). The team from Meuspath had already secured the team title ahead of schedule in Saturday's race with a victory for Thomas Preining and a third place for Morris Schuring, giving them a double podium finish. With a fifth place on Saturday and a spectacular victory in Sunday's race, Ayhancan Güven finally clinched what was probably the most exciting DTM drivers' title battle in recent years. After nine drivers with title ambitions started the final race weekend of the season and the championship remained open until the very last second, the Turkish driver secured not only his first DTM title with a four-point lead (192 points) over Lucas Auer, but also the first championship win in the sprint series for a Turkish driver.

Meanwhile, Thomas Preining finished the 2025 DTM season in fourth place in the championship (182 points). He secured two victories and three further podium finishes. His teammate Morris Schuring claimed his first DTM podium in his debut season with third place in Saturday's race at the Hockenheimring. After finishing fourteenth in Saturday's race, he was also awarded the DTM "Rookie of the Year" title, beating five other newcomers to the sprint series. In the drivers’ championship, the 20-year-old Dutchman finished in 16th place (58 points).

After winning the team and drivers' championship in 2023, in its debut season with Porsche, this is Manthey's second triumph in the sprint series within three years. The team's next big season finale is just four weeks away: In Bahrain, Manthey can clinch the WEC championship in the LMGT3 class for the second time in a row.

Quotes on the DTM race weekend at the Hockenheimring:

Nicolas Raeder, Managing Director of Manthey Racing GmbH: "It was an impressive season with many ups and downs. The number of times Ayhancan and Tommy internally took turns at the top of the championship is truly extraordinary. Seven victories in one year – that's something very special. To be honest, I hardly dared to hope that we would be able to win this extremely exciting final. I am very impressed with our team: how it performs under pressure, delivers in all conditions and then brings the right performance when it counts. Strategically, we made hardly any mistakes. It was a team effort that will be difficult to surpass, and I am extremely proud of that. Now we still have the WEC finale in a few weeks, and then a great season will come to an end."

Patrick Arkenau, Director Racing of Manthey Racing GmbH: "In the end, words almost fail us. We are more than happy. We arrived with great ambitions – and a realistic assessment: the team title was within reach, and we knew we had a very good chance of winning it. When it came to the drivers' title, however, it was clear that we would need a lot of luck. The fact that it worked out, that we were able to win both races – especially the second, tough and intense race with lots of close manoeuvres and hard but fair racing – is simply incredible. On top of that, winning the drivers' title together with Ayhancan is an incredibly beautiful and emotional moment. We have won all titles again: the team championship, the rookie title and, for the second time in three years, the drivers' championship. It's just crazy and it's continuing exactly as we have built it up over the last few years. My biggest thanks go to the entire team. Without this team, which works day and night on this success, never gives up and finds a solution to every problem, none of this would be possible. I am incredibly proud to be part of this team."

Ayhancan Güven, Porsche 911 GT3 R #90: "I will remember this day forever – it is one of, if not the best day of my life so far. I have been working towards this success since I started motorsport at the age of five. Winning this title now, at the age of 27, is not only very important to me, but also to my family, my fans and my home country. Before the race, I knew that only a victory would give me a realistic chance of winning the title. That was my goal. During the race, I refused to do any calculations and wasn't interested in what the others were doing. That was also agreed with my crew. We focused on what we could do. I am so proud and would like to say a big thank you to the whole team. Being part of this team means so much to me and to crown our second season together with this victory is incredible."

Thomas Preining, Porsche 911 GT3 R #91: "Fourth in the championship – that's obviously disappointing. On the other hand, it's much better than it looked at times during the season. We had three retirements, which were not really our fault, and we lost a lot of points in two races at the Sachsenring. Against this backdrop, it's actually a strong sign that we were in the title fight right up to the end. In the end, we really weren't far off. Of course, it's all the more difficult when you fight your way back again and again throughout the season, consistently finish at the front and then lose the title in the last race. That hurts. But there are also many positive things we can take away from this season. Congratulations to Ayhancan on winning the drivers' championship and to the team on winning the team and rookie championships. Winning them all is a really strong achievement. And I will continue to give my all to win my second drivers' championship."

Morris Schuring, Porsche 911 GT3 R #92: "Overall, it was a fantastic weekend, with Manthey winning both races and me achieving my first podium finish. This means that my teammates and I have all been on the podium this year, which I am really proud of and which was my goal at the start of the season. It feels fantastic to have achieved this goal. The second race was a little less ideal: I was hit pretty hard on the first lap, but the guys did a great job of getting the car back up and running, and in the end we were able to win the rookie championship. In fact, we won pretty much every title there is: team championship, drivers' championship and rookie championship. I'm incredibly proud of everyone, especially Ayhancan and Thommy for the season they've had. A big thank you also to Nicolas and Martin Raeder and Patrick Arkenau. It's been a fantastic season, and I think we've really ended it on a high note."
