- Optimised aerodynamics with up to 540 kg downforce in track setting
- Adjustable coilover suspension with adapted spring rates
- High-performance brake components with improved responsiveness
- Nürburgring Nordschleife in 6:52.981 minutes
Hardly any other production car is used by its customers as often at track days as the Porsche 911 GT3. With the new Manthey Kit, the performance of the high-performance sports car on the track can now be increased even fur-ther - through extensively revised, particularly efficient aerodynamics with significantly increased downforce, a modified chassis and optimised brake components. The 911 GT3 lapped the Nordschleife of the Nürburgring in 6:52.981 minutes – around 2.8 seconds faster than its predecessor with the Manthey Kit.
Stuttgart. For the current 911 GT3 (992.2), Porsche offers a Manthey Kit for even better performance on circuits. The kit provides significantly more downforce and the resulting increased cornering speeds. The chassis has been specially adapted for track driving, the brakes are designed for the particularly high demands of track days. The new Manthey Kit was developed in close cooperation between the Porsche Research and Development Center in Weissach and the Manthey engineers in Meuspath. The components, which have been optimised for use on the circuit, are sold through Porsche Centres around the world.
Downforce of up to 540 kilograms at 285 km/h
The aerodynamics of the 911 GT3, which was already designed for high downforce as standard, has been further optimised for circuit operation. In this way, the entire underbody becomes a continuous aerodynamic element. The air deflector elements on the underbody (turning vanes) have been extended by one metre to 1.50 metres. In this way, they generate additional downforce in a particularly efficient manner. In addition, the rough trunk well of the production vehicle has a cover. This creates a completely smooth underbody. The bow lip has been redesigned and extended forward by 12 millimetres. Special front diffusor fins in the front underbody and flaps attached to the side of the vehicle increase the downforce at the front axle. The wing of the 911 GT3 with gooseneck suspension is wider and now carries a spoiler edge (gurney). The end plates have been enlarged and are visibly curved inwards for optimized air routing. The rear diffuser with longer fins increases downforce without increasing drag.
The CFRP wheel fairings (Aerodiscs) on the rear axle reduce drag, complete the interaction of all aerodynamic components to optimize airflow and thus maximize overall efficiency. Overall, the downforce increases significantly with the same drag. At 285 km/h, the 911 GT3 with Manthey Kit produces a total downforce of 355 kilograms in road position. In the circuit setting, which is not allowed to be used on public roads, the downforce even increases to 540 kilograms at 285 km/h.
Adjustable coilover suspension
Together with Manthey, Porsche has developed a special four-way coilover suspen-sion for the 911 GT3 that can be adapted for circuit use. The suspension struts are adjustable in four ways, rebound and compression can be adjusted without tools. The moderately adjusted spring rates (ten percent more on the front axle compared to the predecessor with the Manthey Kit) contribute to improved handling at the limits and are adapted to the significantly higher downforce values. The optimised circuit chassis increases the mechanical grip and allows the car to lie even smoother, espe-cially when driving over Kerbs.
A lightweight forged wheel set with rims in 20 and 21 inches is optionally available for the Porsche 911 GT3. These reduce the unsprung masses by a total of six kilograms compared to the standard wheel. They are available in brilliant silver, neodymium and black (satin-gloss). A brake line set with steel sheathing is included as standard in the kit. This guarantees a very precise pressure point and thus ensures optimum brake metering. As an option, special racing brake pads for the PCCB brake system are available for the Porsche GT3 with Manthey Kit.
Extensive range of accessories for even more individuality
If you want to add further visual accents, you can individualise your 911 GT3 with particularly sporty accessories. Carbon door sill panels with illuminated Manthey let-tering, LED door projectors with white Manthey lettering and the option of applying the Manthey lettering to the doors as well as the option of applying the Manthey let-tering to the doors underline the sharpened character of the 911 GT3. In addition, the carbon aero discs are available in various colours. Tail straps are available for front and rear use on circular routes. These are optionally available in red, black or yellow and can be attached in the intended thread to the front and rear sections. They must be removed before driving on public roads. In addition, the 911 GT3 can be refined with front air outlets and rear air intakes made of CFRP.
Almost three seconds faster at the Nürburgring than its predecessor
On the Nürburgring Nordschleife, traditionally Porsche's testing laboratory for sports cars, the 911 GT3 with Manthey Kit can play to its full potential. With reigning DTM champion Ayhancan Güven at the wheel, the modified GT sports car lapped the 20.8-kilometre circuit in the Eifel in less than ideal conditions in 6:52.981 minutes – 2.76 seconds faster than the previous generation (992.1) of the 911 GT3 with Manthey Kit. Both cars were equipped with the optionally available Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tyres. The lap time was certified by a notary present on site.
"With the Manthey Kit, the 911 GT3 has once again become noticeably better in corners on the circuit," says reigning DTM champion Ayhancan Güven. "The significantly higher downforce and the optimised chassis make the car very easy to control and provide the driver with even more confidence. Unfortunately, the lap time wasn't ideal, as the track was still damp in some places due to the autumn weather and therefore very slippery – otherwise a few more seconds would have been possible."
"For more than a year, we worked with Porsche engineers to develop the new Manthey Kit for the 911 GT3 and did a lot of detailed work in the wind tunnel," says Nicolas Raeder, Managing Director of Manthey Racing GmbH. "In addition, we have tested over several thousand kilometres on European race tracks and on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Since the track conditions were difficult to determine the official lap time at the critical points, we will start another attempt next year in better weather to show the full potential of the Manthey Kit."
The Manthey Kit for the 911 GT3 is expected to be available from March 2026 from 41,911 euros plus country-specific VAT and installation at Porsche Centres. The fac-tory warranty for the 911 GT3 remains fully intact.
